G'day,
As the title suggests, I have gone and done snapped the stem which attaches to the clutch slave cylinder. This happened while trying to crack the bleed nipple, after installing a new master cylinder. Now, as a temporary measure I have hammered/drilled a self-driving screw into the small hole in the stem to stop fluid streaming out of it. only problem with that is, I can't bleed the remaining air out of the system.. Not really keen on paying $800 for someone to drop the box and replace an otherwise 'fine' slave cylinder. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else? I was thinking of putting a self tapping bleed nipple in the hole where I have the screw but not even sure if such a thing exists.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Hello,

Depending on access, try an Ezy Out. They are a tapered left hand thread. As you turn counter-clockwise, it will bite and remove the broken part. You could also try a thread repair place, will still cost a few Dollars though. A mobile thread repair place is worth a call for an estimate, if you keep trying it may go beyond what they can fix.
