started the car today and when cranking i heard a bang n sumthing drop imedaliry turned the car off n checked n noticed i snaped this mount any idea on a cause so it doesnt snapp another

i had a one snap a few weeks back, i dont know what caused it but i put it down to poor casting in the alloy as it was not that old..

is this where yours broke??

By the looks of that belt, it hasn't been running true for a long time. The tensioner assembly has been in need of replacement for a long time. Dayco make decent quality one.

in my case it was a genuine tensioner less than 12 month old and failed on the freeway, it had broken and fell back and was rubbing on the head, i tried to limp it home but only lasted 10km before it ejected the pulley leaving no choice but a tow home..

whats scary is by the looks mine would fit snugg onto yours

gotta replacement off another car just was making sure it wasnt a abnormal thing
