Couple of small threads about this but not many answers I was wondering how hard it is to set up . I understand that the standard 1.8:1 rockers can be easily modified by drilling through where the hla sit and tapping a thread but can you buy some where screw in lash adjuster or would it be custom and other then solid cam grind is this all that mechanically necessary.

From what I've read, you need something like a nut welded in the opening of the lifter (in place of the HLA). Or, fill the space for the HLA with weld followed by drilling and tapping. I'd try using some parts from some other vehicles that use adjustable lifters.
The down side of doing this is the ticking noise from the lifters, especially if you're running a big cam. Also, tig welding alloy that's contaminated with oil is difficult.

Is the alloy to soft to rely on ? Not worried about ticking chasing big power so will run big cam

I think the alloy is OK to weld but....there's a liklihood that excessive heat will warp the rocker. (Unless you're good with a TIG, I'd get this sort of work done by a professional welder). To get rid of any oil, it needs to go in an acid bath (like the engine reconditioners use).
I was going to get a brass fitting TIG welded to one of the rocker pedestals. The engineering shop, that I use, reckon it will warp and affect the reassembly and clearances for the oil feed rails. Hence, I didn't go ahead with any welding on the rocker gear.

But can't you just tap a thread straight in like what's the need for welding

With the rocker, there's not much metal at the top to tap into. IMO, 1-2mm of alloy is not thick enough to stop a screw-in fitting from popping out considering the hammering they get. I was thinking of a nut welded in place of the HLA, tapping a hole throught the top, and using a locknut on the top to hold the 'threaded pin' in place.
Have you had a look at any of the older engines that use these? I used to set them on a 79 Chrysler Sigma and a 94 Holden Barina.

i thought i read somewhere that jim mock performance do them, but at a big price tag? give em a call it cant hurt to just ask .

Bloody hell I'm scared to ask haha I will though because its looking like I'm gonna use one of thief cnc heads with the light valves 41mm ex valve.

Maybe he could find a set of rocker arms that are the same dimensions but stronger?

6800 rpm 300 rwhp yer pretty big like 240 @ 50' and big lift, the bloke that's lightening my crrank makes cnc rockers for them ill ask him how much a set is. If stock rockers can't take it I spose cnc jobbies it Is

And as for 300rwhp, Better go to Vic... only one person has the knowledge and proof of that so far.... and it isn't JMM

I don't have the exact cam size yet mate and that is pretty bloody big. Paul from cve isn't the only one to reach 300 in a ford I6 theres hundreds of them. Production modified speedway class, aren't competetive until they have up around there. And that's with modified only bbm and standard throttle body
