i need to service my car but i have a few questions im hoping someone can help me out with,i would normally ask a mechanic these questions but i really dont trust any of them in the town im in.
How much would i be looking at for:
plugs/leads
air filter
oil filter/oil
3 fan belts
Another thing im unsure of is how often the leads should be replaced?the ones on my car at the moment are about 42 000kms old as well as the plugs.
how hard is it to change all three belts in a ed falcon?ive never done it before though but i am willing to learn and will have a more mechanically minded person with me when its done tomorrow.
Does anyone have any recommendations for oil? my car has 281 000kms so its getting on abit with age.

Thanks in advance for any help for my millions of questions.

Plugs about $6 each, leads about $80 - 90 a set depends where you go, Air filter about $25 possibly more, Oil Filter cheapies start at $8 - 10, Oil anywhere from $8.99 for s**t to well over 100 for stuff you'd wish you could have sex in and the belts between $12 to 18 each.

Leads should be ok for a while yet, get them tested. Its a bit fiddly changing the belts but all you need is a 24 mm, a 13 mm spanner a flat screwdriver or lever and a bit of swearing.

I use valvoline, ya know what I mean? Actually thats a lie, I just like the ad. I use Mobil 1, its awesome.

Well you're never going to quit being a noob until you tackle the task. It's just tedious. Try doing it...it may take longer than someone who has the know how, but at least you are learning from it and understand the mechanics as you go along. Then it will make it twice as easy next time you do it :).
