Ok started to work on the new car.
LPG wiring was ALL over the place and patched here and patched there. So out came ALL the LPG wiring Now that has been done, the car is still running really rough on petrol. Yes it does have a Tickford GLi dual fuel ECU. Would this cause it? Also talking about tickford LPG, what does the computer look like? The reason i ask this is that the car originally had tickford LPG on it and the computer that it was all plugging into was um lets put it nicely "bloody HUGE" bigger than the ECU and was where the clutch peddle would go. There is nothing that says Tickford on it or any make. I will post some pics up of it later. There is now no loose or shorted out wires in the car. It still refuses to play nicely. It has a bad time on idle and driving. I have plugged into the scanner and on KOEO test, all clear. KOER test, are as follows: 412 ISC High Idle fail The Idle Speed Controller was not able to control the High idle speed during the engine running test 411 ISC Low Idle fail The Idle Speed Controller was not able to control the low idle speed during the engine running test 521 PSP Failed open The switch must be closed for the KOEO and ER test. During ER test, the steering must be turned approx 1/2 turn. Can be caused by disconnected or faulty switch, or failure to turn steering during test Now the switch i can live with until i get it fixed. But what could be causing the idle fails? I have checked the leads and they all look ok. I have checked and cleaned the plugs and will prob replace them tomorrow. I am starting to run out of ideas Any suggestions?

Check the ISC itself. I replaced my air con compressor and got it gassed then the car struggled to idle when coming to a stop at lights it would sit just under 500rpm, then drop down and the ISC would bump it up to keep it going then it would steady down and drop again ect ect. Dad suggested replacing the ISC and its all good now.

Yeah i had a look at the ISC and it seems to be ok. Working on a budget here, as per usual, so i cant just take "pot guesses"
It was running PERFECT on gas until the switch decided to burn the tracks and the wiring was very um dodgy. I might look into it some more but and get some prices tomorrow and see how i go from there.

Failing ISC output drivers is a common fault in EF/EL ECUs. Just replace the ECU.

ok an update.
I changed the HEGO with another one that we had here. Yes it was second hand. Well anyways, that didn't help all that much, but i have added a piccie of what the one that i took out looked like. I changed the MAP sensor. Still no better. I tripled checked all vac lines and no vac leakes. althou i did find that where the hose goes onto the PCV valve, the plastic around there was a little cracked. Stratching my head some more, i decided to check the injectors. I unplugged them 1 by 1. i.e. unplug injector 1 test to see how it was, replaced. Unplug inject 2 etc etc. The following is the results: Injector 1 - No change Injector 2 - No change Injector 3 - No change Injector 4 - Rougher Idle Injector 5 - Rougher Idle Injector 6 - Rougher Idle Now these leads me more to the ECU as i have already replaced the coilpack. I dont think that it is likely that 1-3 injectors are stuffed but 4-6 injectors are good. Especially since i have ran about 3 or 4 bottles through of injector cleaner and spit fire. When i unplugged the fuel reg ( i.e. the vac hose) there was no difference in idle. So this could mean that the fuel reg is stuffed and not sending enough fuel down the rail for injectors 1-3 ???? am i correct in saying this? Oh and it is also backfiring through the throttle body. This is on PETROL cheers

Are the first three injectors getting power?

it is common for lpg wiring to fiddle with injector wiring (for when the car is running on gas). ensure it is all ok - backprobe the injector outputs at the ECU with a test lamp. this problem may well be unrelated to the isc issue.

Checked and all injectors are in fact getting power. Both at the injectors and at the ECU
I am at a complete loss Could the fuel reg be up the creek and not passing enough fuel through the rail to reach the injectors? I went on the new geelong ring rd and towards the end going up the hills, dropped to 60 kms

As i quote previously, they are in average condition but the ones in cyc 1-3 are actually in better condition than the ones in 4-6
The leads have got PLENTY of spark in them so i cant see how these would be an issue. But at any case, we are replacing the leads and plugs next week
