TRAFIC! i dont think you would want to be doing thoes sorts of speeds in "traffic"

Well by traffic I meant cars on the freeway, was pretty quiet, but i went around 2 or 3 cars, then freaked out and slammed the brakes back down to like 100 :p

I just replaced my tailshaft with a bit of wood and now I can do 250km/h in school zones.

I think the speed limiter should be renamed "damage that can be caused by idiots" limiter. There are VERY few reasons to remove it.

It isnt there to spoil your fun. Its there because 180kph is about the limits of the hardware in the drive train. So yeah, if you do go ahead and remove it, at least upgrade the tailshaft and put a loop on it. Ive also been told that the output shaft of the auto gearboxes is weak which is another reason for the limiter (not as many manual cars have limiters from what I can tell).

And before you drive it - ask youself do you really want to go this fast? If it was considered dangerous when it was brand new, whats the risk when your doing it on engine/wheel bearings/brakes/etc that have done 1000's of k's. At the end of the day its your car and you can do what you want (even if it is illegal), but maybe you dont realise how dangerous it is.

Not to mention you shouldn't incriminate yourselves on the forums

But I agree anything anywhere near 180 is suicide

Your xr6 seems to be a bit of a beast soulfire. I've nearly managed to crack the 210 mark, speedo was just creeping onto it. Might have been able to get to 215 if i had kept my foot down for a good 30 seconds or so.

haha kezza, it's a hybrid ;) lol.
Nah I dunno, it has it's days. Sometimes it doesn't even like 160, other times it likes to keep going, which is why i let it that day... I'm not really a big fan of going that fast... I just wanted to know what it had in it.

I touched 195 K/mh in a Datsun 200B that had a stage 4 rally motor in it and i slightly veered around a pole in Gnagara (Pine forest) on a dirt road and lost it in a twirl of dust but luckily i stayed on my wheels and swore never to go that fast again.......on the dirt lol.

Have done 278K/mh on the back of a bike with no jeebus bar, if you ever get the chance to do that..........pass!

i would say yes becuase i would assume they're all autos. BTR4 spds aren't desinged to go over 180 without a trans cooler.
