I was driving down the calder freeway (Vic) and just out side diggers rest rest they have a device so you can check your speed. i was doing 100km/h and the sigh said i was doing 106km/h.
i was wanting to know if there is a "Poor mans" way of Adjusting my speedo? i don't want to really want to take it to a mechanic because A: it aint very high on my list of thing to do and B: they will prob charge $100-$200 if not more for the labour. thanks |

Sunbury23,
This link might help you work out a speedo gear that will give you a more accurate reading. Gears are under $13 from Ford and take 15-30 mins and an 8mm spanner to fit if you've got car ramps and a jack. http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=30 Cheers Paul

Once you have the correct speedo gear for your diff (maybe you have already), put your cluster into diagnostic mode http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=12 and compare the digital speed to the actual speed, in my experience, it is pretty accurate with EF/EL's.
Then adjust your analogue pointer to match. I'm a bit dubious about those highway speed indicators - here in NSW, I use the 5km (with 1km marked) test lengths and compare to the tripmeter.
