Just got my BA and decided im prepared to spend 5K on performance mods, want to pre plan the whole thing and decide exactly how ill spend the whole 5k to get the best overall package and not do the tradional upgrade, upgrade, ad hoc, illogical progressive style.

Does anyone know what the go for bang for your buck on these cars is?

Where do you want to spend the money?

Power, brakes, suspension etc?

5k can buy you a fair bit in any one (or two) of those areas, or you can spread it out more evenly across the board. It depends on what your goals are.

Lower it with decent shocks, should cost you around $1000 (camber kit incl).

Full exhaust and headers $1000.

Flash tune I think around $800ish? Not too sure on price.

Then you could get better brakes, which you may be able to pick up second hand for around $1000-1500, but you will probably also require bigger rims to fit these, so there's another $1500-2000.

Good air filter, pretty sure the intake its self is pretty good with no need for modifying

Exhaust - Extractors and catback system

Suspension - Lowered springs, shocks, sway bars

Engine management - Tune

Brakes - Slotted rotors, new pads if needed.

Wheels - New rims and tyres

Best bang for your buck would probably be the exhaust. Sounds good 8-)

Or if you cant be f**k drilling holes in your sump and engine bay, a raptor kit will cost 5.5k with a flash tune. Bolt it in dive and have fun. Then you can get more out of it as you go, save up for a set of cams, exhaust, and leave the rims till last there only for looks and you will enjoy boost more than sitting on a chair in your driveway looking at your mags

TURBO KIT from snort done easy power

I would say a raptor kit is easy power, and a snort kit is moderately hard power as you need to run the oil lines to the sump, get a new exhaust made up, install the inter cooler piping. And if you want to do it properly, you will take the engine out to drill the holes out on the sump for the oil lines.

But if you want more power and leave a bigger smile on your face, then buy the snort kit and do all the extra s**t like pull the engine out and cut 3 inch holes in the engine bay

I am undecided just now, cant make my mind up aye. I know there is more power to be had with the turbo, but the raptor kit is really the easy power option. you get everything in the kit and it can be bolted on in an afternoon over a 6 pack or 2 with a few mates.

The snort kit would be my wet dream but I dont want to buy a BA and then have to pull the engine out and have to pull the sump off, just so I can install the fittings for the oil lines. then i would have to put the car on a trailer and take it to an exhaust joint to get a custom exhaust to fit the dump pipe. All this would mean the car would be off the road too much time for me anyway.

Just my 2 cents

Thats all i need'd to know, i suppose i have to research the raptor a bit now and do the exhaust, performance is what i was looking for here, not wheels, brakes etc.

Thanks guys

You will be disappointed if you have a car making really good power but have to baby it everywhere because of s**t brakes and barge handling.

All in good time, lets make it go fast first, just saying this is my budget for performance, seperate budget for the rest later and dont want to come back to blow more on go fast again again trying to get it right bit by bit

Putting the cart before the horse a bit there IMO mate.

You are much better off getting the brakes and suspension sorted before going for big power anytime.

For obvioud reasons, it's just far more dangerous going for power before handling and stopping!!!

There's no point in driving a super tanker after all!!!
