hey yall. i drive an au 6cyl manual, and lately, when the throttle is open enough, it start to splutter and jerk about, like its not getting any fuel for a split second so it retards for a split second and then bounces back. this is happening 2-3 times every 5seconds. when i drive it p***y foot, it drives normally. it hasn't dropped a cyclinder and there is no pattern to the jerks. the only recent things that have happened is a service (so check over and new fluids) and i put in a K&N air filter. any help would be grand...

fuel filter blocked or fuel pressure regulator leaking and not holding rail pressure. Also check TPS.

i got it up on ramps at the moment. just about to change the filter, do it in an hour or so. driving home i pushed it on full throttle and it sound like its purring. its just it 175k km and the book advises change it every 90km, so its about time...

is there any thing i should watch out for or take very special care with when changeing the filter. ive already taken the fuel pump relay out and started and stalled it etc. is there anything else i should do to prepare it?

yeh, did the filter, didnt fix it. (it needed doing anyway) so went and got plugs and leads. got NGK BPR5EY-11. $2.70 each. changed the plugs and its fixed. number 5 was rooted... didnt bother changing the leads, too lazy. so now i got a set of new leads lying around.
