Ever since I replaced my stockie steel rims with XR6 alloys on my AU, there has been a slight squealing/squeaking noise when I reverse the car out in the morning to go to work.

Any idea what this could be?

Are the nuts too tight or too loose?

Or something else...?

mine does this also sometimes and i just assumed it was a brake issue. i still have my stock mags on it.
When i baught it though they just put ned tyres on it so it could be the nuts but i doibt it.
either way i am interested to knwo the solution to this problem

It can't be the brakes.

The reason I know this for sure is because I got my rotors and brake pads replaced completely.

It then ran fine.

Afterwards I got the new mags on... that was when it started squealing.

It's interesting to know that someone else is having the same problem.

Does it still squeal/squeak with your stock rims on?

A fault I found with the AU's when they were new, was that the ones fitted with mags that had the plastic dust covers in the mags wheels, squeaked when driving. You could really hear it in the undercover car parks near walls.......just a thought

i got the same problem before & after removing dust covers...i'm guessing it's the handbrake, as that's most common suggestion
