the belts on my eb have to be really tight or they will squeal also. as regie said tighten them up more or get a new one first then try again.

welcome to fordmods mate!!!

just tighten her up and she'll be sweet but its probably better if you replace the belt

common EA,EB, ED problem... could always change to thermo fans and single belt system with self tensioner from the EF, EL's ;)

If you have just had them replaced it means they have just strected alittle bit and just need doing up. the same thing happened on my old ED XR6, about a week after i replaced them they started to squel again but they just need a nip up.

I thought the conversion to a single belt system was harder then it was worth the while

Early V blet type or the flat ribbd type ( i assume EA/EB/ED or something) i had this drama 18months ago thaught my alternator was f**k,,,, but investigated and the ribbed belt needed to be tight as f**k

Spray some belt grip on it and give it a decent tighten, you shouldn't have any more problems after that.

mate i got a XG ute doing the same thing. i have replaced belt and all, tried tightning the s**t out of it, did nothing but f**k the bearing in the alternator. also the power steering started doing it to so tighted that lord behold that fukked up as well, tried the belt grip. but you know what, i recon its a slight leak from the power steering dripping on to the belts and spraying around and making slippery... so clean everything up, apply reasonable amount of tension, and cover the fuk out of em in belt grip and see what happens.
Also for how long as if it comes back then check ur power steering pump.
