IMO yes, but only because off the difference in the standard to SS induction snorkels. They're at least twice as big - at the airbox at least.
I mainly notice a difference (drive-ability wise) higher in the revs. I paid $260 for mine so I though it was worth it. I guess it really up to you though, whether you want to spend that much on a bit of plastic.

i've got one as well, just over a year now on my BA XR6, its almost 4X bigger than the original. i feel it made a huge difference, i had a K&N panel in there, but as soon as i put the SS induction on, it made a big noticable change. not only do you get a nice sound from the engine, but you have a better response and a small increase in fuel economy. since putting in the SS induction, K&N panel filter and 2.5 inch exhaust from the cat back, i've gone from 14.1 ltrs per 100k to 13.2 (mainly city driving)

They are expensive.
If you can justify the money, go for it. But you can get similar gains from less expensive products. |

The stock intake snorkel is not a restriction to the intake. The 55mm ID bellmouth exit on the airbox lid is the largest restrictor on the intake. It's basically not much larger than a golf ball.lol..
By enlarging this or removing it all together you will notice more difference then compared to a SS inductions snorkel.

The factory snorkel is the 2nd biggest restriction in the intake, with the airbox outlet the most restrictive like you mentioned With the surpise being the standard paper filter contributing to f**k all restriction |

They do give you a little more response, i dont think they are worth the $300. I can imagine the BA intake would be better then the EF/EL/AU one as its heap bigger aswell

bank for your buck would see the tickford snorkel in front... and even opening up the lower section of the box for an added cold air intake.. add a 3 inch mandrel intake and you have one pretty easy flowing intake!.. minus that crappy bellmouth rubber piece on the exit of the uppper intake lid ofcourse...

You know on the AU falcons how the battery box has a breather on the bottom, would adding on of those onto my airbox help creat a better airflow?
or should i go bigger than that? |

Much bigger!
Ram air is the best thing! I had on my xr8 before a 90 degree elbow coming up on a bit of pipe up under the airbox, worked well. Also all the ribs in your airbox can create turbulence too, if you de rib it, it will be smoother too.
