G'day
I was looking at autobahn today and i found the SS inductions pipe for the EF-AU falcon and it's heaps bigger and thicker then the XR6 turbo one i have at the moment. Has anyone got one of these for there car and has it made much difference? cheers

im guessing you mean the "SS inductions ef-au" -Snorkel?? is usualy a very expensive option brandnew... and alone doesnt boost power hugely.. more minorly.. but if used with an aftermarket intake (3 inch mandrel bend) and an extra "cold air pick-up" atleast you wil maximise any gains from using this "ss" product...

G'day
I've put one in a few weeks ago. Not a huge difference but you do notice it, more in the higher revs I think. But it was quite expensive. Got mine for $260. Would still recommend it though, it's just so much bigger than the rest from ford IMO.

I fitted an Aunger one (pretty much the same size just different brand) prior to my blower. I also had a 3" steel air intake and the K&N air filter - I noticed no difference in power.
For the price your better off doing a cam install or something like that. |

what about fuel saving? also do you have to cut the tube sticking out of the airbox to make it fit propely with the second peice

I'm not convinced yet, as I've only had it a couple of weeks, but I think it'll save a bit of fuel. Maybe round the 0.2-0.5L/100km, so not much.
I won't know how the EL airbox is but with my AU I had to cut a large hole out of mine, all the way to the inner edges of the ss's piece. That way you wont have any restriction.

i did mine yesterday, and had to cut that big hole in the airbox, i put foam and salastic to seal it up. The intake does actualy make a difference and i can feel it going up hills, i dont have to put my foot down as much and it revs smoother.

I'm also getting my car dynod again tommorow to see if the intake has done anything and to advance my timing to make use of the 98 octane fuel i put in. I got 127.2rwkw before, im hoping to hit just over 130rwkw

Sounds good.
I don't know how much driving you do, or if it's BS, but I got told that it'll take about 400kms before the car would really use and learn the SS induction. Keep us posted on what you end up with.

have a read of this:
http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_107828/article.html The way they have installed the pipe down infront of the radiator, it would probably direct in more cold air than compared with just relying on the small bonnet gap.
