hey i was just wondering if anyone know ruffly how much for a 2.5 inch stainless steel system single muffler , would cost me?
id like to get stainless steel because everyone that i talk to tells me that stainless steel makes the exhaust sound better and it will last longer? |

makes no difference to sounds IMO, get it mandrel bent, and yes it lasts longer and is it worth it for unleaded cars.

Shouldn't effect sound at all. But it will cost more than a normal Mild? Steel one. Make sure the mufflers are also stainless as they may try and jip you there. As for price depends what you get done and were. E.g. diff dumper will be cheaper than full exhaust, one muffler and resinator will be more than single muffler.
Phone around your local joints. Otherwise e-mail Lukey or Redback and ask what the Recomended Retail Price is on a stainless steel bolt on system. |

a rough guide for a custom built one is $45 per bend. $40 a meter for straight pipe. $250 for stainless cat. $250-$400 for a stainless muffler.
we also charge extra for out of house TIG welding, as we have no TIG |

Mine has a stainless rear section. from the center muffler back to the tailpipe, including stainless rear muffler and stainless tip. I think that part was $300 on its own???
With a custom centre section, lukey extractors and heat shield it was $1050 installed. The mufflers affect sound more than the pipe.

i just bought 3 meters of staintless steel pipe for an exhaust shop for a mate for 23 a meter. not bad price.

Ive actually found some stainless systems too sound a little tinnie. There is nothing wrong with mild steel at all.

True that seton. If you can afford stainless, why not, but generally a mild steel one will last donkeys years anyway.
Theres a nice length of 4 inch 309 grade stainless at mywork, basically there as scrap as all our oil lines are 3 or 2.5. If I had a turbo I'd be racking it to make myself a killer dump pipe... no point to that last bit, it's just a random comment

SS systems do sound different. It all depends on how long you intend to keep the car. And/or if you think you'll be upgrading in the future to an even bigger exhaust system.

hmmm yeh i wanted it because i heard that it makes a raspear sound if u know what i mean, but if it make sno diffrence with the sound then ill just get mild steel .
