if you mean what they do, the stock stally in a ef auto is 1000rpm, which means u can lock ur foot on the break, and bring the revs up to 1000rpm and the car wont be trying to push itself along until you take the foot up off the break, if you have a 3000rpm hi stall convertor, you can bring the revs up to 3000rpm, without the wheels starting to spin or the car trying to push off until you let the foot off the break.
Jim mock motor sport now sell their stall coverters which retain the lock up mechanism and flash to 3000rpm for $695 unfitted, $1000 fitted.

No....it just means if u are wanting to give some a run off the lights u can hold the brake pedal and bring the car up to 2500/3000 (depending on the stally) rpm before the wheels will try and spin then when they go green slam ya foot from the brake to the accelator....higher revs will give u a better launch in otherwords....wont effect u idling If recommend when u get one fitting a larger trancooler

Just be advised that the limp home mode on the autos is around 3000rpm, so if you do change the satll, dont go any higher than say 2800rpm

Brett But hows that work brett ?? cause doesnt the autos only go into Limp mode if the ECU sends it thast sinal due to the ECU detecting a fault code. I.E why u can sit still in N and rev higher than 3000rpm ad its okay or even in drive with the foot on the brake...just that the car begins to push forward...???? i dunno your thoughts
