hey all
noticed something irritating recently - as i pull up to a set of lights/roundabout etc, the car, just as its about to stop, feels like its about to stall it hasn't at all, but its pissing me off, and was just wondering what people might think it is? i'm thinking of resetting the ECU, resetting the base idle, and cleaning the ISC - any other thoughts? cheers

Hey Bob, is this while you are turning steering wheel, power steering switch maybe? something isnt kicking in when it should.

could be something to do with your vacuum tank - which generally purges as you use the brakes...

nope its irrelevant if i'm turning or stopping in a straight line. as for the vacuum tank - where is it?

mine used to do that when it was auto, every time i just reset the ecu, came good after that for a few months, not sure what changes to make it start doin that.

Can you please explain this? How is it purging and from where? Why would it need to be purged?

Cant see how that would happen. The brake booster is much much larger than the tank. Plus it has a one way valve in the engine bay to stop the tank being emptied. I would guess the base idle maybe too low, or the isc is slow to react. If I stamp on my brakes hard when i get to a stop the revs dip low. But the isc is working hard to lift the revs back up. But it never stalls or feels like it will stall. |

My understanding, the vacuum tank is only to maintain vacuum to the heater controls

My understanding, the vacuum tank is only to maintain vacuum to the heater controls Eggzarcary... To maintain heater controls at WOT and the engine is not generating vaccum. |
