There was as bloke on here a while ago who was saying he could get any car to standstill, he would come to your house at your cost and do it. Bet was like $100 or something.
I cant get my car to do a standstill (IRS, but prob may be solved since i lowered it... must attempt) I dont think its that much of a big deal man, its more trouble than its worth these days! The only time you ever really need to smoke them is on the strip, and then its a piece of piss!! |

lol i think i might win that bet, i know it sounds stupid but its the wank factor cause every single mate i have has a vs which will pull one would diff gears make it easier once spinning im thinking it may be the gearbox cause the old engine wouldnt do it either

guessing auto.
load it up with brakes on like trying to do a burnout then let of the brakes, mash go pedal to floor and jump back on brake pedal, what happens when you do this? yes diff gear ratio change will help make it easier to spin.

My auto EF would do them like nothing when it was bog stock with my s**t old 225 Dunlops haha, my new set of tyres and fairly soft rear suspension makes things a little bit difficult cause the tyres are quite grippy and it tends to bog down a bit, but its all in the technique. Sometimes i need to stall it up, get off the brake, floor the accelerator and hit the brake again to get it going (like what Millard was suggesting).. Once its going though it doesnt want to stop

kinda know where ya comming from if ya cant do a standstill the car most likely is running at its top performance, i had a similar issue with my old eb. couldnt' even get it to spin on cement. it flet fast and use to accelrate ok, in the end i found out the accelrator cable was shot, it wasnt opening upfully, so i replaced it, leads, sparkplugs, oil change (dont think that did anythign LOL) and after that i dont think there was anywhere it couldnt do it, not to mention the pickup was so much better..

LOL my 500 000kms EB with a stuffed auto and cooked motor could do them. on Good tires all you needed to do was plant your foot maybe put some pressure on the brake if you want to get serious.
Still have the stuffed auto if some one wants it? (no engine braking) |

operator error... i used to think autos were a disadvantage for line lockers, but it's just a different technique.
my theory is, if you don't know how to do one, don't try it coz ur obviously not too mechanically minded.
