Hi,
I started the car to warm it up, as i do every time i drive. And i heard a loud ticking noise. like the chain was slapping till the oil pressure built up. this lasted about 3-5 secs. After this i noticed the spanner on the dash. Now i know it means a service, but will changing the plugs, oil, oil filter remove the spanner? or do i have to do something to remove it? thanks EF fairmont. just hit 190k's |

Welcome to the forums.
To turn off the service light you hold down the trip reset button for 10 seconds while switching the ignition into the "on" position... at least I think that's how you do it. No the ECU cannot sense when it has had a plug / oil & oil filter change... unfortunately they didn't build it that smart. Cheers |

Isn't it written on the oil filler cap? Obvious place to look for it I guess.
