hey every one ive started the mpfi conversion finaly havnt got all teh parts as yet but will have them all soon hopefully any one got any tips
cheers guys ill post up some piks at the end of the process

TIPS:
1 : have at least 4 beers on hand and drink every time something goes smoothly as this helps with the next nut/bolt working in your favour
2:stereo this is mandatory ie must have
3:And if you have kids make sure they are somewhere else as they ask 120 questions at the most innapropriate time and its hard to keep your cool when that f##kn nut just isnt moving
I found this work'd for me anyway good luck should be piece of cake

lol ok cheers mate for sure there will be beers involved in the process it will end up costing more than the conversion and lukly the only kid there will be me so it should be good
if i get stuck on any thing ill ask use fellas for some advise

keep the wife and the kids away.i did this and it works.i was doing my thermos and my wife and kid said daddy every two mins and it get very anying and you are trying keep your cool.

conversion going good so far ive got the new head gascet on ecu, fule pump, aircon bracket on so now i can start the hard bits puting manifold on and conecting all the pipes ect

ive got most of it together except the manifold and wiring..................and now the problems start, I have a 4 speed auto and the new manifold loom wires don't correspond with the main loom, the new loom also doesn't have the pink wire that goes to the dizzy.
Im also confused about what to do with the old idle control....

anyone got any ideas how to get around this............do i need a new loom and how do i connect my transmission loom (whatever it looks like).
need help urgently

Its All about Getting the Right Gear BEFORE you start....... I think you will find that you either have an 88 Modl Falcon and your trying to use an 89 modle Manifold.... or you are using an 88 modle manifold on an 89 modle EA, The trick is to match up the manifold year with the car year... i fell into the same ditch and had to end up adding/changing wires around in the loom..... Makes it a hell of alot easier if you got the matching looms...... Cant remember exactly whcih wires i had to change as i did it over 2 years ago, Sorry

cheers southy nahh my cars made in 1990 and im pretty sure the guy siad teh loom and s**t was out of a 1990 car but who nows ill try looking for one that corresponds with mine

i went out and got a new loom......i needed the one with the pink wire, do i need to get a MPI map sensor as well?
Now ive noticed that ive got 2 tfi sensors on my old cfi manifold and the new one only has one, so now i need a new throttle body that i can put 2 sensors on..............1 goes to the main loom(on the fire wall) and the other goes to a smaller plug next to it............so i think ive worked it out, if i get a new throttle body my 4 speed auto should work properly? any opinions would be greatly appreciated as im getting sick of going to the wreckers every couple of days.

Now for problem number 2

Do i connect the Grey white wire from my new idle control to the Grey white wire in the loom that my old idle control plugged into( this loom goes next to the passenger side inner guard)
what do i do with the other 3 wires that plugged into my old idle control.

Please help as this is starting to frustrate the hell out of me as my cars been off the road for 2 weeks...............

sorry dude, You have a 90 model (30th aniversery) 4 speed auto (88 and 89 were 3 speeds) therefor you have different/more wires than i had..... cant help you
