will a au 1 starter fit a ef with dramas may be buy one this affternoon and needs starter

you can fit a starter motor from xa(even earlier) up to ba.6 cyl.. no problems

??? in what way??

is there 2 wires going to the starter solinoid + battery cable on xc??
otherwise in e series there is 1 wire to solinoid and battery cable..
and thats the same up to ba..

on the earlier models there is 4 prongs on the starter with 4 wires, when i got the el one it had 2 prongs i put the battery cable where it goes and two smaller wires i had to splice together, and no matter where i connected the 4th wire the car wouldnt start so i left it disconnected and it starts fine,
