ive finally got the $$$ to spend on some more herbs for my car problem is:

its got 210000KMS on it,
i try to drive the wheels off it most days

motor is in good condition (slight lifter noise at startup but only for a few seconds) uses no oil and blows no smoke.

If i get an ALTED/RPD stg2 cam, how long should i expect my motor to last, if the answer is "Dont even try" ill get and low K AU motor (stg 2 is available for AU isnt it?) and drop that in along with the new cam.

I have 217,000km, my motor is gettin pretty tired, I see the rev limiter several times a day - and I have not had any problems with my Stage 2 yet.

I won't comment as my engine is fresh.. but I've seen how Dima drove his and it was his POOR shifting ability that was the demise of his car not cam related.. The cam is a work of art and performs beautifully in these engines, it complements not destroys engines.

I'll let you know after next weekend :D
RPD Stg 2 + 320,000km engine?
:D
My old man is convinced it'll blow, but I say it's all good.
The engine is a bit tired, but doesn't blow smoke.
It'll be bouncing off the limiter tomorrow night (Heathcote), and I'll probably thrash the f**k out of it when the RPD cam goes in.
I think RPD do do an AU Stg 2 cam, data_mine has one, but it's more like a stg3 supposedly.
If it does implode (which I highly doubt), I'll just build up something with a bit more go, maybe even with some forced induction in mind...

210,000 is not that bad, so long as it runs good, besides 4L motors can be had for under $500, so not massive deal if it blows.

i currently have a dev5 head with a 5a cam on stock bottem end that has done 269000. the head and cam have been in for about 20000. the only problem i have had is to try and get it to stop hunting so much when in gear and idleing.(auto)

640,000km's and I thrash her with the extractors, wade cam and that! wasn't till i put the Tickford head on that I had any issues lol!
put the cam in - what's the worst that can happen - the motor eventually dies and then you get another one for $500...
