those toyota v6's are pretty quick. camry's and magnas are fuggin fast because they are lighter and geared well.
poor falcon suffers from its heavy engine and drivetrain.

Not quite, a BA XR6T auto will do a high 13 and a BF 6-speed is quicker again.

Maybe an awesome driver would do 13's that has been down the strip many times and owns the car. I have only ever seen 14.18 and 14.2~ from a stock XR6T and they have 50 more kw and has max torque pretty much straight away.

Nah, they get it all the time. Strip is always quicker then magazines usual GPS calculated figures. By the time you break timing beams at strip, you are already moving. GPS calculates the moment you even start to move.

Cars only run better times if they have traction issues, mine doesnt really break traction when i take off (little bit not much) so slicks wouldnt really help me at all

Have you taken it on the track or are you talking about on the street? I found when my car was auto it had no hope in hell spinning the wheels on the street but on the track it wouldnt stop spinning. Usually in test 'n tune meets they dont prep the track so its horrible to drive with street tyres on a smooth surface |

I really struggle to break traction in my auto 250rwkw XR6T, maybe a short chirp if I stall it right up. It's good in a way, but depressing at the same time
You should have better traction at the track because its a grippy surface, even when not prepped. Unless you haven't done a small burnout and your tyres are still wet. And yeah, the rubber on the track would help too - you see people in cars that can normally rip a burnout sometimes struggle in the burnout pit because of all the rubber on the road. I remember seeing a commodore sit there on the brake for a while then drive around in circles unable to break traction. I laughed along with everyone else

The tarago is a tad over 100 kg heavier than the falcon mate. sure it has 12 kw or so more, but as usual peak power figures are only part of the story. Its how the engine "delivers" these kw that make it faster or slower than it should be on paper. Like when the old man was looking at getting a new car he tested a t3 TS-50 and an Au3 XR8 with a herrods exhaust system on it, and we both think the Xr8 went harder, not because it had more power or torque (it had less on both counts), but because it revved harder than the stroked 5.6ltr. It was accessing its peak power at a faster rate, its revs were climbing faster, and thus its roadspeed. Someone should workout how to calculate a Power Delivery Co-efficient to go alongside kw and torque figures. Sort of a numerical rating on the spread of power and its rate of climb.
