If you can believe this, a stock auto (admittedly a 6 speed) will turn out a mid 14 second quarter. Ive seen stock XR6T's run that!

I didn't think they were that quick - I jumped out of my old mid 14 second EF into a new 6 speed BF and it didnt feel like it had as much go. Mind you the shrieking sales lady along side me didn't help

hoily s**t! if they are indeed that quick than that is going to make for some awesome p plater cars in the future to coe.. lol
with all the NVH issues sorted light years ahead of our e-series im sure you could be doing 14 second quaters but not feeling like your driving a tractor/dragster at the same time... |

The Toyota suprised me the most.
After all the money ive spent on manual conversion, diff gears, cam exhaust etc looks like im still only on par with a Tarago wagon |

I think those times are greatly inflated to be honest. I know the new BF 6spd is a very fast ride, but a Tarago that fast? Even with a 6 i don't think so.
Oh and regarding the Fast P Plate car, are the falcon's heavy enough to just get inside the 160kw / ton ( or whatever it is now ) power to weight rules for P platers? Cheers ToranaGuy

The tarago is 3.5l 202kw vs and weighs 1800 kg
the falcon is 190kw and 1700 kg - it makes sense. If you're allowed 160kw/tonne that's heaps - in theory you should be allowed to have a typhoon! (272kw max based on the weight of a BA)

man 160 kw per ton??? that means a p plater could drive a au3 xr8, at 147 kw per ton. (220kw, tare weight according to redbook is 1510, which i think must be incorrect.) I thought the AU3 XR8 was about 1600??
also the BA 05 typhoon using redbook figures would be 152.5 kw/ton.... (270 / 1.77= 152.54) what is the limit to P platers?

and yes the na falcon 6's are fine for p platers 1600 odd kg and 190 kw.

thanks nicko. so basically that means the max my AU falcon can be for my little brother to drive it is 188kw. thats still a lot of power. thats a top exhaust, top cam setup, hi flow intake and capa flash tune. A car with that will pull way hard. IMHO it should maybe be lower lol.

qld rules state
no forced induction with exemption to a few cars no engine modifications nothing over 200kw @ flywheel Exemption can be had with written application if you need it for work etc. |

IMO i think those times are s**t, that standard falcon is as quick as the xr6t and those things hammer

Gotta love been in the ACT with no limits on anything, we can drive whatever we want, have as many passengers as we want, have 4 points to lose (NSW if cought speed auto lose of licence) there is no speed limit on L's or P platers and we can have a BAC of 0.02
