Anyone know if the EF cams would differ between falcon and fairmont? Just curious as was thinking may get a little more GOOOO if the falcon is slightly 'sportier' and the mont a little more 'smooooth'??? Anyone know exact specs on E-series stock cams???

Cams don't differ between spec levels no, even the Tickford to non-Tickford difference has been debated here.

O.k thanks...Now would the EA/B/D specs be much diff to EF/L? I know for a fact the old 3.9 cam has bigger Ex lobes than my EF cos i compared them side by side???

get a Wade re-ground cam, $135 exchange, and they are a site sponsor. All the factory cams are s**t and a much of a muchness.

the only difference between tickford and GLI cams ON PAPER is valve timing,
lift and advertised duration are the same. you can't debate the fact they are different, you can only debate on putting an XR cam in a GLI engine making much power difference. |

Thats what I always thought re: valve timing, but bentls/akademics posted up only recently that Wade cam doctored them and they are identical. Hence, the "debate"

The XR6 cam runs 2 degrees retarded though. not every GLI cam is the same for every year. same goes for XR stuff. but year for year there are differences between GLI and XR cams. Even if it's only minor like LSA or valve timing it's still different. no one is claiming the XR cams to be some super cam, there are just not the same as the GLI cam from the same model year |
