Hey :-)
I was about to remove my lower radiator hose when I discovered a hose clamp that I had never seen before. The head of the clamp is rounded with a hole in the centre, I have only ever encountered clamps that can be removed with a screwdriver. Does anyone know how these clamps are removed and re-attached? pry the round thing off with a flat head srew driver, and it has a standard screw head under this.
and i'd be looking at getting the radiator cleaned as it sounds like its the factory unit.

those clamps were factory. sililar to a shear bolt, when they get to a certain tension the end snaps off and you cant tighten them too much

haha thanks guys :-)
The car is a 1999 AU Falcon Forte sedan (not the vehicle displayed as my avatar). My fiance has owned it for approximately one year. Thank you for the information regarding the clamp, I thought it seemed a little bit unusual! Interestingly enough the radiator fitted to the vehicle doesn't appear to have any sort of drain plug. I'd say the hose is probably the weak link. But then, i cant talk - my upper and lower rad hoses are factory issue and are about 4 weeks away from being 11 years old!! lol
