hey guys,
i was driving along (on the way to the petrol station) and i started to run out of fuel when this began happening the instruments turned off and the light to say that headlights have been left on was flashing . After putting fuel in I started the car and the voltmeter went to 16 (max then) and everytime this happened the instruments turn off and the light flashes. however when it idles the volts come within a normal height on the gauge and instruments come back on. Is it just coincidence that this happened when it was running out of fuel? My guess is that it has buggered the voltage regulator? any other ideas? i thought if not this it may just need something to be reset.... |

yeah if the voltmeter is reading 16V, then i would point the finger at the regulator at the alternator. Get it checked out before you fry your battery and other stuff.

very familiar demon with those. only cheap compared to a new alternator or a rewind though.
