My EF falcon suddenly and unexpectedley took off as if someone had put a brick on the accelerator pedal. Subsequent investigation revealed a broken cruise control cable with the loose linkage in a position that could have jammed the throttle open. Removed the linkage and car seems to be running OK now. However, a friend related a similar experience he had with the same model. He claims there was a fault in the EF that caused a recall. Apparently, the fault is intermittant. I am now concerned that there is more going on than just a jammed open throttle. Has anyone heard of the recall for this problem?

I have never heard of that problem, i would take the accel cable off the throttle body and just to check over it to make sure its ok.
