when your making peak power on a turbo I6 at 3000rpm for example.... why would one need to rev the motor harder than 5,500???
and you guys are saying stock for stock, V8 vs I6 s/c.... there was no stock supercharged I6.

I see alot of older guys going throu mid-life crisis driving GT's & XR8's
the only 8 I want is a 10 second V8. other then that, I'll stick to the i6. i6 can really do damage to someone's pride if they're in a V8. seen a few on the side mirror suddenly doing a unscheduled right/left turn on the next turn in shame

I have an answer to that but I can't seem to put a decent sentence together right now. I'll come back to it lol |

The main reason I want to go the i6 supercharged route is because its different then the norm. 3 heap of my mates have 5.0L VN-VS's and if they tell someone they got a 5.0L VS its like yer ok thats cool but how much better does it sound if you got a supercharged 6? It just breaks from the norm I think thats why I want to do it instead of an 8 mainly.

lol no worries, thing is the I6 is a torquey motor and coupled with a turbo doesnt really need to be revved overly hard to start really hauling a**.

well I have the both to choose from when I want to drive!
The I6 has a SS induction snorkel and f**k it makes a big difference compared to the TICKFORD snorkel but driving the I6 you dont get pushed in2 the seat enough aswell at the end of the day the I6 isnt reliable as the V8. As for the V8 well its heaps better to drive the noise of that Engine and the reliabilty factor is heaps better V8's never die, getting pushed back in2 the seat blowing any supercharged factory commodore & any factory V8 commodore At the end of the day it doesnt matter what you have but fuel will cost the most.

sounds a bit like a debate now... so my two cents say.. i like my 4litre.. easy to modify.. cam changes are easier.. good on fuel.. 180rwks is enough in a na six to keep most people happy.. n especialy with alot of younger people the six makes so much more sence as it sometimes difficult insuring a v8 depending where you live.. cops dont give me any trouble engine wise..

Owning a V8 is like a religion, you want an 8 other wise you'd buy a 6. Technology has done great things for the 6 but there are die hards like myself tha just love the thump of a nice V8 buy what suits you.

all in all, they are BOTH great street motors, but the 4 Litre is easyer to work on....anyway, if you want to get more power, the bigger the better... although you can get a el/ef sixer in the 13's i havent yet seen it at the tracks, as everone cant be stuffed spending the money on machining work, billet and alloy internals, etc... people would rather spend it on something that makes abit more sense (a V8).....DONT GET ME WRONG ive got a BA sixer, and i reckon theyre fkn powerful C***, but at the end of the day, if i got a V8 at the lights next to me, I DONT BOTHER!!!
