well turbo it then, u can buy kits for 3grand from snort but u need someone to install it and tune it whihc makes up the other 2grand or so
yours is an ea did u do a barra conversion ? s/c kits are abit more expensive with less power, altho with good constant results most people say on here to have 10grand to make your car a turbo so it can be reliable and handle the pressure or the ba xr6t engine 6500 lots more potential

I'm not too sure how much power they have stock but it would be somewhere in between the 157KW AU and the 195KW FG. Of course those figures are from the standard engines, the AU VCT engine has 168KW. See if you can buy a wrecked BA for a good price, then you'll have all the parts needed for the conversion. Or just buy a cam etc, full exhaust and better differential gearing for your current stuff. You could probably do all of that for around $1000 or under if you shop smart And you can do other things as you have the money for more performance too. But if you just want a cheap decent gain and don't really care about longevity then you could buy a cheap Ebay copy or second hand turbo, then all you'd need in the manifold (if you don't get it with the turbo gear), an air filter/intake piping (if you wanted to do it semi-properly) and possibly some really cheap bits like water/oil pipes, etc. You could also upgrade from that scenario over time as money permits too, like a BOV, cam etc, exhaust, better intake, intercooler, tune, differential gearing. None of that probably helps much, but it's there anyway

Do you want the thing engineered? Brake upgrades and all that, alot to think about mate. Well thats my two cents but yeah a little more to it than you might think, and its not so much what is better...and superchargers will not always give less power as you say, it depends on what is done, how the car is set up..if it is set up for turbo or super charger etc and a ba conversion is not the easiest of jobs and it all comes down to what you want to spend.
