I have purchased a Digital Instrument Cluster and am wondering if it is a standard swap (eg would the new one have smart lock?)

Its the same cluster as the one that is in the picture below

Yep, the link will help you.

You WILL need to build an adapter, and or rewire your instrument cluster plugs. The wiring is very different, and while the plugs look the same, the wires/pin outs are not.

In addition, if you want the door ajar feature to work you will need to install the door ajar switches in each door lock, and run the necessary wiring around the car and through the doors.

This LINK while for the EF/EL, gives good description of how to run the door ajar wiring and what is involved.

Cheers

S*** i didnt realise that there was so much work involved i thought that it would most probally just be a standard swap ! I am now thinking that i may just have to go for a Sport Cluster !

Either that or get an Electrician to get it going for me, although that would cost a fair bit !

The Sport cluster 'should' just plug in. I installed one in my EB1 without having to add a single wire, so you should be OK with that change.

But you will need to add the correct Oil Pressure sender to the engine.

Yea a sports cluster might have to be the way to go although it would have been great to have a digital one ! While this topic is up i want to change the back lights of what ever cluster i have to green and i heard bulb paint is the way to go is that true??

Troyman has successfully used Glass Dye, which he got from a craft type store.
