I want to remove by BBM manifold from my EF and fit a MPEFI manifold from a EA-ED.
Has anybody done this before? Any pics to share? Ive tried searching & searching but i can only find little info. i think i need a xh tensioner (any other way around this)? xh drive belt the mpefi manifold ea-ed throttle cable & brackets ea-ed air con compressor bracket & bolts how do i hook up the cruise control so it still works? can I put my ef throttle body on the ea-ed manifold? Im going turbo soon, trying to keep the pipework neater/easier/shorter. plus you can't argue with it, the fastest e-series turbo car in australia is running one. any help would be really really appreciated |

The plug that goes on the throttle body is different to the EA one and the EB 4.0 is different to an EA one.
Yes, you will need an XH tensioner and belt. You will need the mounting bracket for the A/C compressor ( EA to ED MPFI), but I think you can still use your compressor.

I'm doing the opposite on my XH at the moment (log to BBM).
i think i need a xh tensioner (any other way around this)?: No. it's needed as the A/c compressor needs to sit lower xh drive belt: needed how do i hook up the cruise control so it still works?I added a portion of an EB throttle cable to get mine to work. Either that or get an XH cruise cable The XH brackets may be different to EB/ED - can't tell you for sure can I put my ef throttle body on the ea-ed manifold?I doubt it will fit properly - the ISC port and the throttle position sensor will have the wrong orientation. The Throttle linkage is different also If you run into trouble I've no probs swapping equivalent items.

thanks for your help. i think ill have to take some photos & document whats required for this manifold swap. Most people are swapping manifolds the other way to what I'm doing and information is readily available on this. I hope the power/torque loss isnt too great while I'm waiting to turbo with this mpefi manifold on it. I have lost a bit of lowdown torque as it is by going to gas. I can't do burnouts anymore since going to gas, i can stall it up but it won't spin the tyres. it used to on petrol no troubles. |

I did forget to mention that you'll most likely need to change the 2 coolant pipes - pass side one in the thermostat housing, and the drivers side one that goes round the back of the engine. Best to do the latter with the inlet & exhaust manifolds pulled.
