Hi everyone. Could anyone please tell me the 3 step tension specs for a au steel head gasket ?
I am putting a au steel head gasket in my el & if i should use holymor spray on it.

I am putting a au steel head gasket in my el & if i should use holymor spray on it. You can use holymor spray if you want, it is not necessary tho. I recall 90 newton metres + 120 degrees rotation, someone correct me if Im wrong.

Ford AU Specs:
30nm + 120 degrees is correct. JMM Specs (AU Gasket) Stage 1 40nm Stage 2 80nm Stage 3 110nm I used the 3 pass, no problems yet. I also used the 30+120deg 6 months ago in a mates car, again no issues Technically the 30nm + 120deg is a better method. No need for holomar as the gasket has its own bonding agents. But I have never heard of any damage using it otherwise.

Just as well i double checked. It is 30nm + 120 degree. Thank you guy's.

But really, it dont matter if you use the 40Nm + 90* or 30Nm + 120*, you will end up with the same torque setting. The torque settings are not gasket/engine specific. It's just that the 30Nm + 120* would be more accurate in the end. |
