Mate of mine has one and seriously the Maverick is better on the fuel!
His absolutely chews it.
Balljoints are a known issue on them. They fall apart pretty regular. You have to get a complete replaement arm the joints are not availabe at the moment seperately.
Check that the brake hose recall has been done. The original brake hoses are too short and snap.
It is a nice car but I have to admit.
Dunno how you will go with the LPG and 7 seater as when my mate looked at getting his done the LPG tank had to go in the cargo area.
For what its worth I would seriously be looking for a GU 4.5 or 4.8 Auto Patrol 7 seater. More room , better set up. If you find one thats not already on gas it will be a give away price as they need to tow a petrol tanker in standard form.
I took one for a squirt when it was at the car yard my bro used to work at and to be able to smoke the s**t out of the tyres on a stock factory 4x4 was amazing. They go hard!
They are pretty easy to maintain , just about bullet proof and a lot of fun with the family.
Especially coming into summer with how close you are to Stockton.
My olds have a 3.0 Turbo diesel one with a 2" lift and 33's and my old girl is 4'10" and has no problems at all getting in and out of it and much prefers driving it then a car around as she has good visability in it which she doesnt have in a car due to her height.
a prado would also be a good thing but dearer then a pootrol.
Just something else to think about..........................
