Got a motor out of the car and I want to test the CR.

I can't attach the starter to it because the gearbox is still in the car

Do I just remove all plugs and spin it by hand with a big ratchet on the harmonic balancer while the comp tester is in one cylinder at a time?

You could mount an half inch socket and extension onto a drilling machine and turn it over from the front bolt on the harmonic balancer. You might need to borrow or hire a heavy duty one if what you have is too small.

Would need to spin it over pretty fast. Not slowly.

Next step is probably a nice exhaust or stage 2 stereo.

Ended up mounting the starter motor to the intermediate plate between engine & box and attaching the plate to the block with 2 bolts to either side of the starter.

Worked a treat.
