Got a motor out of the car and I want to test the CR.
I can't attach the starter to it because the gearbox is still in the car Do I just remove all plugs and spin it by hand with a big ratchet on the harmonic balancer while the comp tester is in one cylinder at a time? |

You could mount an half inch socket and extension onto a drilling machine and turn it over from the front bolt on the harmonic balancer. You might need to borrow or hire a heavy duty one if what you have is too small.

Would need to spin it over pretty fast. Not slowly.

Ended up mounting the starter motor to the intermediate plate between engine & box and attaching the plate to the block with 2 bolts to either side of the starter.
Worked a treat. |
