there has been alot of talk about whats good in the 4.0l six but what i wanted to know was what have people done to their engines that are making close to or over 150rwkw N/A.
I need to be making this sort of power soon as my best mate is taking his VL to bresciani racing on saturday and is having his engine rebuilt to make peak power without a turbo - insurance reasons, and the estimate power bresciani said he would be making is 150rwkw..... now i know that there are falcons making well over this amount so i need to know how to stop this guy from saying that my car was "found out in a rubbish dump" |

you will need prob 160 170 rwkw to beat a 150rwkw vl because of the weight difference.
you will need the usual bolt on good exhaust intake extractors etc. then headwork some port and polishing and a wild cam with an aftermarket ecu or piggy back chip (unichip etc) you will need performance valve springs etc for a vild cam like an rpd stage 3. a manual would prob be good to get teh power to the ground as well |

Your car manual or auto?
There's a lot more than power that can win you the race you know. But youve already got most of the goods, a cam is a good start from there. |

i got an auto
i dont mind too much about 1/4 mile times yet, i just wanna say my car is more powerful at the moment, i dont want to have to go through tyres all the time through dragging so i usualy boot it from a rolling start...... i let the unsuspecting prey get a little bit in front and then pounce like a big cat and bam im gone.. thats what i want i know a stall converter, shift kit n better dif will help that but im just focusing on the engine at the moment |

yep, I agree with CLEANEB. VL dont make much torque. The 4.0 will own it in that area, and may beat it with less power.

Going by your sig you already have?
- High flow air filter - Extractors - Exhaust If thats correct then i would be looking at getting - Stage 3 cam - Valve springs & vernier gear - Uniship or similar That should see you around the 150rwkw which is great if you like to look at a peice of paper. To really maximise that power, get a 5spd manual and 3.7 LSD, they will dramatically increase your acceleration and transform the way the car responds compared to your auto and 3.08ss!!

The stock f/pumps give up at around that power. Bresciani can get get the VL's going but as others have said the torque would get you over the line first against a non turbo VL |

Buy an auto buzz bucket, and mod your falcon
I'd recommend the Alted cams (funny that), but to go stage 3, you WILL need a High stall. A stage 3 alted cam with a high stall, and 3.7LSD would whoop my cars a**. f**k weapon I reckon.

It does say Holden on the rocker cover When I had mine I was looking for a Nissan rocker cover, just to f*** off the holden drivers. Always been a blue oval man, but just owned a nissan powered car for a while.

Strange that the RB30 was only for the Aussie market. Fitted to Skyline, VL Holden & Nissian Patrol. But still the best 6cyl mtr ever fitted to a Holden |
