Well after being flogged by a 32 skyline tonight i have decided that ill build a motor from the sump up. The other part of the reason is because my motor has done nearly 300 thou and it starting to blow smoke like a commodore.

Firstly im thinking of what block to use. I have the EF/EL or an AU block.
-Ill have to research which is better to use for high power.

Then the pistons. Either i can leave this stock or i can do something here. Depends what i find out about the originals. If the originals can take 350rwkw then i may just leave them but ill get to that.

I also got the head. Ill put some work here. I dont know if ill go N/A or Forced Induction. But i do know there will be a cam, new valve springs, probably a port and polish. Anything else i should be looking at here.

I have also considered an AU VCT motor. Unsure if it will be possible in the EF that i have. Not really keen in changing whole car looms but ill do what it takes.

Then there just leaves exhaust and intake. I think i high pressure fuel regulator will come in handy and bigger injectors. I hear the magna ones are better then ford stockies and are more powerful.

Exhaust side of the motor....well simple....extractors for N/A or custom manifold for turbs. Im getting a 2.5" catback this week.

Looking to get around 350 rwkw with the aid of a T5 and a LSD. Unsure about what ratio i should use but thinking that the fairmant 3.23 (what ever it is) will be a better start then my SS.

Im going to research everything first and then go down that track with that fully in mind.

I hope to have a start by the end of the year and to be completed the project by this time next year. Yes its a long project but the car isnt worth anything and i didnt pay much for it so i have a why not attitude.

Anything i should be considering?

Any help as into which block i should be getting, head, vct or non vct, turbo to be used and so on would be excellent.

you certainly are all over the place there :). May I suggest you work out how much your want to spend on the car 1st, then decide if you can afford forced induction, and then plan where to spend it from there.

You wont get 350rwkw NA, and even with a turbo its going to be a fair bit of work. With that power you will want good quality cast or forged pistons. You will need something way bigger than magna injectors (youll need something around 3X bigger). Add a performance fuel pump to keep up with the flow and an aftermarket ECU to control them. Your talking a couple of grand there just to support the power you want.

A T5 wont handle the power, your going to have to build a strong auto to take it reliably or look at a more exotic manual box.

Oh and you can all but forget about getting it legally registered :(

"same boat" i have a ed ticky that needs a rebuild, i did a drunkin post last friday saying i wanted 200kws at the back wheels after readin all the posts i would be happy with the realistic 140kws thats in my reach and wont cost a quarter of a ba turbo, some good info have a read anyways http://www.fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=37318

ive heard of a new piston make called liquid foreged. molten metal injected in to a mould at high pressure and then billieted and pollished or something.

supposted to be good but havent heard much else

you're looking around $9000 to $25000 for a 350rwkw i6, if you do your homework.

be realistic, theres some bolt on turbo system from snort performance on ebay between $1599-$4000 stage 1 to 3.
theres some modest gains with their bolt-on's, 170wrkw to 220rwkw if you select your fueling right.

if you want to beat the skyline, then it would be cheaper to buy a skyline rather than modding a straight six falcon engine

n/a limit is around 180 - 200rwkw and thats with a lot of work. to get beyond this you need more cylinders or forced induction and even then 350 is prolly out of reach (what does pyroay have). you may as well just go get a xr6t as this will be cheaper and more reliable in the long run.

why are you so determined to build a car like this. is it because you got done by a skyline. you weren't actually expecting to win that drag were you?? stock r32's do low/mid 14's and there's no such thing as a stock one these days.
