I know there is a small rubber ring on the thermo that sandwedges the two halfs but is there an after marked gasket you can buy?
im leaking (very very small) amounts of coolent from the thermo housing and i really should have done something a long time ago. i know you can linesher the face down a bit but im looking to seal it up a bit as it does do some hot weather stuff and tows occasionally Cheers

I think it cost me like $13 for a new thermostat and gasket. But I could be wrong. I remember the Gasket was pretty much overpriced for a piece of rubber. phong =P~

are you talking to make a seal between the surfaces?
if so just get some gasket goo and smear it on the surfaces and go nuts.

yep, i did mine last thursday.
i took it off... cleaned the face, applied the blue gasket goo... let it sit for 10mins to get sticky, and then i put it back on and bolted it up. left it to set for a couple of hours. worked a treat.

yeah the rubber ring isnt much chop
im thinking more the houseing itself. mines wheaping ever so slightly

Just go for gasket goo mate, it'd be your best bet if you really need it. I just changed my thermostat over and there were no leaks and it was running without a gasket. Managed to crack the cover undoing the bolts though so we'll see if it leaks now or not lol.
