my mate has a central fuel injected, EA Fairmont...
just want to know the repercussions of using "Threebond Engine Conditioner" on the throttle body,
or any throttle body cleaner in general.

any info would be good. trying to get the old girl running better so if you have any suggestions of improving how she runs would be great

What would be the best method of just cleaning out my injectors/throttle body to make it run nicer on idle etc.?

throttle body cleaner doesnt hurt it at all, just makes the car run like sh!t while your spraying it in, but if your really worried it doesnt take much to pull the throttle body off anyway, i think its like 2 bolts, fuel line and a plug

other things you can do if you want to get the ol EA running nicley; they - like all Falcons enjoy a plug & lead change with air and fuel filters, if its still running like crap, then take the dizzy cap off and wipe it out, maby get a bit of wet 'n' dry and give the 'contacts' a light rub, and don't forget to set the timing (if it needs setting), also my old EA didnt like to run properly without coolent.

thank you. we did the throttle body cleaner and the amount of black chunks that came out the exhaust was crazyyyy. its so much more responsive now so its awesome. we also changed ignition leads and spark plugs which helped alot!

maybe a stupid question but whats the 'dizzy cap' ? couldnt hurt for me to get a bit of info on what it is

Is it yours or your mates ? It's not that bad.... lol

a "dizzy cap" is a Distributor cap, it sends the power from the coil through the leads and into the spark plugs at a set time.

the EA ones are setup wierd, its hard to explain but if they get dirty on the inside or out then they dont work very well, just remeber if you take it off and clean it, put the leads back on in the correct order lol

do you have the 3 speed auto or a 5 speeder?

hahaha it is my mates but he is only on boosted falcons so i thought i might tap into the fordmods knowledge


cheers man. very helpful man. ummm he says its a 4 speed auto? but aparently the CFI came with 3 speed so i dont know. and he says thanks. might look into replacing his dizzzy cap
