Hi Guys

I have a eb xr6 auto.. I was thinking of upgrading the throttle body. What type of power gains would I see on the dyno? I currently have a chip torque chip installed.. I would Remap/dyno the car once new throttle body is installed.

Mods that I have done are... Extractors, 3inch exhaust from extractors to back of car, K&N air filter and home made cold air intake and also chip torque chip.

The engine has done 200k and checked compression the other day... All was in spec and it does not burn any oil.

2. How long do the 4.0L normally last before they start burning oil and losing power etc?

Thanks in advance
Cheers!

I would be installing an aftermarket cam first before fitting a bored out throttle body. Without cam/headwork, I don't think it would benefit performance much.

agreed...
if there is no headwork or performance cam you wont notice any difference..
as the 6 cyl throttle body is already pretty big for a std one..

there is thread on here that proves there is power to had with a throttle body change even with out head work/cam.

the TBs are sold by a member. it shouldn't take long to find the thread, even if you just go back one page at a time.

there are gains to be had, the thread tickford is refering to was buy fast-xr (the guy who just finished the groupby in the forsdale section),his motor was far from what youdd call stock for those gains though, general consesus is that you should do all if not most of the common mods before looking at throttles, to get the full gain from it.

with the mods youve done, i would suggest you get a nice camshaft first, then other mods like a highstall/manual would prove a better use of $$$, for a uch greater effect on ppower and 1/4 times

You will still notice gains up top on the dyno on a stock engine (that is with the world being perfect and dyno's actually matching up), however they will be minimal.....I would go as far to say as on a stock engine you would struggle to notice any difference driving (except lack of response down low if you go too big).

Go for the larger throttle body i recomend it. Get in contact with Fast-xr & he will organise one for you.
