For more flow? Best thing to do would be to get the throttlebody bore machined out to a larger diameter with a matching size butterfly made up. The std throttlebody doesn't pose a restriction as they are a fairly decent size already, but if the motor is worked, there are some gains to be had.

I had a go at doing something similar, but instead of machining out the bore, I just slightly opened up and smoothed out the transition up to butterfly plate, knife-edged the plate and "half-shafted" the butterfly shaft, to try promote better flow and gain a little bit more cross sectional area at WOT through the bore.

Not sure if this works with the falcons.

For my Mazda, one thing we are able to do to gain kw though modifying the throttle body is machining the butterfly to be thinner and smoother.

Not much of a gain but certainly very easy to do.

I bought a larger (68mm) throttle body through eBay. It's an original Ford part, modified by Gator Induction. Cost $220 and was an easy bolt-on. New gaskets had to be made up to suit, both for the idle speed controller and the intake manifold. Gasket material cost $16 and I still have heaps of it left for other projects. With my EF I had to remove the factory airbox snorkel as it proved to be restrictive, but the EL doesn't have this problem, from memory. The car suffered from idle hunting (revving up and down at idle, never smooth) as a result of the modification but after I fitted a J3 chip from T.I. Performance, this problem was fixed. Hope this helps. :)

Hmmm I think there was a thread here with pics of a modded throttle body. Guess you just have to search for it.

Check this one out.
It's done by KWIKXR, although it is about modding the factory T/B, the ideas should still work.
