If i hold the accelerator in the one spot when the car is in park the revs will slowly drop. and to all of the guys out there who have an un even idle or "hunters idle" all that needs to be done is reset your base idle.

if only it was that simple! a rough idle is not just solved by the base idle being reset - in some cases yes, but in others it may be due to a intake vacuum leak for example, or, as is the case for quite a few guys on here, an aftermarket cam. a base idle reset will only allow for a temporary fix - it won't solve the problem. yes i could 'fix' my rough idle by setting it at 900rpm - but then it idles way too high!

that could be a problem - spray carby clean on the intake manifold, and see if the revs pick up - if so, then that indicates a vacuum leak.

make sure you check it all before you blast him! your problem may be solved by resetting the base idle - but not all are thats all i'm saying! if yours idles at the right rpm, and stays there (i.e. doesn't get worse) then you *should* be fine! :P
