Hi guys,

I just fired up my el after a few weeks and noticed there is a ticking noise coming from the front.
Anyone know how to get rid of it?

Thanks in advance.

If it has been sitting for a few weeks then the HLA's may have drained down, should clear up after a few minutes running.

Raven - EL's don't have tappets, they are OHC with HLA's.

I havent started the car in 4mths. I only let it run for around 5mins and the nosie was still there when I turned the car off.

I will take it out for a cruise later this week and see if it goes away after some driving.

Thanks for the help guys.

(An oil change was done around 9mths ago) but since the car has only done 90kms.

I guess the oil drained out as mentioned above but it should come back up in around 5mins of idling though

Hopefully it goes away while driving

Also sorry to take it OT , but is it true the 5L V8 HLA's will fit the 6s ?

I can take a few hours some times for the HLA's to pump up properly.

5.0L Windsor don't have HLA's, they have Hydralic Lifters, They have no chance of fitting a SOHC 6.
