Tappets or injectors.. if not tappets you need to place some injection cleaner in fuel tank..hopefully its injectors.

Use a screwdriver like a stethascope. Put it on each injector or whereever and put your ear on the handle end. Works very effectively at pinpointing sounds.

Dont listen to them, what would they know? tighten up your headers.

Headers are on the left side.

Was just thinking that! Maybe EB_V8 has never looked under the bonnet. After all he has nice soft poofta hands cos he pays someone else to get dirty

If its lower right side, does it happen when the aircon is running. Sometimes the clutches on them let out a little ticking/rattly type sound as they age.

Now that I have finished my rant at that f**k EB_V8 (or maybe I haven't!)

My EB does the same thing. I tracked it down to the injectors. Car was running ok so I left it alone but no2 did seem slighlty noisier than the rest.

Is it from the engine exactly ... or the front corner more of the car ... not sure on the E-series about this ... but could be guessing here.

Is the carbon canister mounted behind the inner guard??? If it is ... I have heard of this being the culprot for the ticking noise on other Falcons ... maybe on a later series though.

Just a thought.

Normally the ticking sound is either lifters or injectors (depending on loudness).

Would need to actually listen to it to diagnose it better though.

ive got this same ticking sound...used the screw driver stethascope and its coming from the fuel injectors and the tick sounds like an individual injector, what fixes this problem and what makes the sound?

I thought a slight ticking noise from your injectors is a healthy thing?
