hey just wondering what are causes of timing chain rattle on start up most of the time and sometime lifter noise? the oil is always full and it the car is always service as usual. could it be faulty tensioner or something else?

Could be faulty tensioner, if its not a faulty tensioner, then If it only rattles on start up could mean that the chain has actually stretched... The lifter noise is probably caused by this as well, if the chain has stretched and hasn't got tension then the valves move at the wrong time. I'd say try another tensioner first...

Could be broken tensioner or a broken chain guide causing the issues. A stretched chain is usually rare...well I hardly hear about that kind of issue. I'd check for any broken chain guides and check the tensioner. Pull the tensioner out, give it a clean, replace the o-rings and hopefully all will be okay.

Only use a ryco anti drain back filter, cheap repco ones cause this, happened in my old ef

Broken guide or if the heads been taken down to min then you can get chain rattle
