yes and no...
are you fitting it to a e series or au??
the aux gear position in au is only really important if your using the au cam position sensor as it relies on the cam position pin on the aux gear...
if your using a dizzy or ef cas, the position of the aux gear isn't important as you slot the dizzy position where you like and the aux gear isn't counter weighted so it don't matter..

so as long as the no1 piston is at tdc and the cam is set to the right position your all sweet..

just keep in mind if your using an au cam gear there is 2 marks, a line and a dot..
the dot is the one you use to set up above the head surface and the line is ment to line up with yellow links..

if your using a e series cam gear just set the cam as per e series...

exactly what I needed but already work it out but wasn't 100% sure on what was going on. thanks troyman appreciate it.
