which way should i turn the dizzy to advance the timing a little and where should the mark be to the left of the timing mark or to the right of it when advanced?

to advance the timing turn the dizzy anti clockwise..
and when advancing the timing line will be on the left of the mark.
when the line is before the timing mark its firing before tdc..= firing earlier= advancing

last time i check the timing the mark was to the right of the TDC mark so its retarded then. thanks for ur help.
