And of course the weight difference between the cars had nothing to do with it...

Against a BA mate.
BA = lardass Compare apples with apples here. Manual E-Series stomps auto E-series, simple fact. Only place the auto has the upper hand is when your driving, trying to smoke a ciggy, and eat a hamburger at the same time.
