ah, i didnt realise there were two b*** series plugs which fit falcons. still wouldnt mind a pic of the Z plug next to the Bs - i've been running the Z plugs forever as they are standard fitment to EB-ED XR6 (afaik) and also for LPG. i noticed no difference when i tried autolites, but you arent going to notice that on the bumometer anyway. What gap do you run?? min of 1.2mm. i'd run more on anything that has the AU S2 coil pack installed, up to 1.5mm. but you need to be careful regaping plugs. plugs with a small gap like 0.9mm need car taken to open the gap properly. multi electrode plugs are purely for extending the life of the plug. The plug you use is standard fitment to the 24valve landcruiser 6cyl engine. |

No plug packs here, Should have mentioned that it was still in a distributor type ignition system. multi electrode plugs are purely for extending the life of the plug. That one I will disagree with you about. |

That one I will disagree with you about. http://www.ngk.com/glossary.asp?kw=Mult ... nID=1&pt=1

^^ that link about sums it up
the part about it running worse with those plugs unless the engine was designed for it is spot on too.... i ran some 4 tip plugs for awhile and it ran like a pig |

Fair enough FordFairmont, fritzz yes I understand what you are saying, and I am sure you have read the patients and the aero space testing of spark plugs. So what I am saying is that, from all the plugs I have used I find these are the best for my application. |

Also, since this thread is starting to head in the direction i wanted it to. Why don't you share some of this knowledge you have gained by reading all of the patients and the aero space testing of spark plugs. Instead of just trying to make your self out to be better then every one els. |

I got this as a PM and thought it might be usful in this thread.
name has been removed, Hope the person doesn't mind. Quote: hi mate,
in the thread about the jmm spark plugs you stated; "min of 1.2mm. i'd run more on anything that has the AU S2 coil pack installed, up to 1.5mm." just wondering the reasons to this, does the AU s2 coil pack produce more spark when compared to an EF one. the factory plug gap was increased from 1.1 to 1.3 on the S2 AU, Ford wouldn't do that with out more spark output. The factory gaps are also 'idiot settings' set so the guy who doesn't look after his car can get the most Km without problems. if you make a habit of checking plugs every 5000km or so you can run bigger gaps, hence i'd up to 1.5mm on the later coil packs. |

Do you know how far you can open up the gaps, on E-series that use a ignition coil and dizzy?

Do you know how far you can open up the gaps, on E-series that use a ignition coil and dizzy? to many variables to put a single number on it. first make sure your entire ignition system is ib perfect order and at least has a new stock coil. You are better off spending some coin on a high voltage high current coil. Go up in 0.1 steps until it misses, then go back .1 or .2 the closer you run to the limit the more often you will need to check, regap or replace the plugs. dont try and take 0.9mm plug past 1.2mm, go and buy some 1.3mm plug and work from that. |

i was just going to say the same thing about decreasing the chamber volume. might only be a CC or two per plug but it adds up Id reckon when it comes to the compression.

Anyone ever experimented with spark plug indexing?
Any noticeable gains in fuel economy, smoother running etc?
