Does anyone know the towing ability of an ef, and the payload directly on the car

it should be on the towbar. they are usually rated to 1600kg or 2300kg dependind on the style. in most states the down load on the car should only then be 10% of the total weight.

The law is 1.5 times the tow vehicles weight or as stated by the manufacturer.

On a EF it should be 1600kg or 2300kg depending on tow bar, but must have brakes on the trailer.

However for a manual it is reduced to 1200kg.

An auto not fitted with a trans cooler it is only 500kg.

always a good idea to have a tranny cooler fitted to your auto anyway IMHO
