Driving home from work this morning, I got onto the highway, nailed it and noticed alot of smoke behind me.. started getting worse.. noticed it was coming out from under the bonnet.. then the heart started beating, haha pulled over grabbed my fire extinguisher and to my suprise a fire engine was passing and pulled over aswell. Nothing was alight, just a s**t load of oil EVERYWHERE through my engine bay, all over my battery, head, exhaust manifold.. Figured out it was my tranny cooler line just in front of the battery.. So i'm just wondering how do I go about changing this? Will I loose much oil? also how should I go about getting the oil off my exhaust and engine without drowding the motor in water.. ??

Cheers :P

Get new trans coller line from wreckers,

With the engine off you will not loose much oil,

degreaser and a pressure washer, be careful not to aim pressure washer at, alternator, dizzy, coil etc.

sorta related to what you experienced

years ago i was driving my 5l V8 Sandman Ute across a car park, saw this fella waving his arms around in the air and pointing at my car, i looked out the rear view mirror and saw heaps of smoke behind me, i stopped, popped the bonnet and flames shot up in the air, the fella had run to a building and grabbed a fire extinguisher, he put the fire out, a petrol line had burst between the fuel pump and the carby, petrol sprayed all over the engine then it caught fire, lucky the fella put the fire out before it really f*cked my ute, i asked the fella how he knew what was wrong, he said the vents behind the front wheels had real flames coming out of them

but i bet it looked mean with the real flames coming out, wish someone'd had a camera :)
